Summary
We log no personal data beyond a hashed IP address and, if you subscribe, your email address. We use no advertising trackers and no analytics scripts. The site loads no font or script from another company.
What we keep
- Server logs. The web server writes the time, the page, the IP address, and the browser name of each request. We use them to keep the site secure and to fix errors.
- Waitlist. If you join the waitlist for signal alerts, we store your email address, the page where you signed up, the time, and a hash of your IP address. The hash lets us limit sign-ups from one address. We store the tokens in your links only as hashes.
- Your browser. The site keeps your theme, your watchlist, your filters, and the time of your last visit in your own browser (local storage). That data stays on your device. We never receive it.
Mail is not live yet. When you join, you are on a waitlist. When mail goes live, we send one confirmation mail. We send nothing else until you confirm. Every mail has an unsubscribe link. Everyone gets the same alerts. We use a mail provider (SendGrid) to send mail. It receives your address for that purpose.
Cookies
The public pages set no cookie. An admin sign-in uses one session cookie. It is for the site owner.
Who sees your data
We do not trade your data. We share it only with the providers that run the site and the mail, and when the law requires it.
Your choices
You can leave the list at any time with the link in each mail. You can ask us to see or delete your data. Write to desk@cryptonews.org. The site is not for children under 16.
